Southern Regional Planning Panel

The Southern Regional Planning Panel (SRPP) was established under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 to determine regionally significant Development Applications (DAs) including, developments with a capital investment value (CIV) over $30 million.

The SRPP (formerly called JRPP) commenced on 1 July 2009. Wollongong City Council is covered by the Southern Region.
The SRPP is made up of five members- three independent experts appointed by the Minister and two representatives recommended by Council. They each have expertise in development disciplines (such as heritage, tourism, architecture, urban design or traffic issues) and will hear and determine Development Applications strictly on their merits in an open forum, free of any political or other influence.

We will continue to receive, notify and assess these Development Applications and prepare assessment reports and recommendations which will then be provided to the SRPP for determination. Post-determination functions such as issuing consent, notification, application and management of developer contributions, certification and most appeals will continue to be our responsibility.

SRPP Agenda Items and Reports

Agenda items and reports for all SRPP meetings are located on the Southern Regional Planning Panel website.
