Drug Information

The Wollongong City Libraries is part of the druginfo @ your library initiative which aims to provide up to date information about alcohol and drugs through local public libraries in New South Wales.

Web resources and public library collections are selected and regularly updated by specialist staff at the State Library of New South Wales in consultation with experts in the field.

Drug information is available at all Library branches.

HSC Resources

Wollongong Central Libraries hold an extensive collection of HSC related materials including study guides, literary criticisms, economic reports, statistics and scientific journals that are useful for HSC students.

Visit HSC Program for more information on HSC resources and services.

Legal Information

Visit any branch for plain language information to help you answer your legal questions.  The Central Library has an extensive range of information about the law and staff trained to help answer your legal questions.

The Wollongong City Libraries are part of a state-wide service which aims to provide free access to legal information for the community.  Each Branch Library holds:

  • a Legal Toolkit - a collection of plain-English books which answer everyday legal questions
  • copies of Hot Topics - a magazine style series on recent changes and current debates in the law

A more extensive collection of books on the law and Law Books for Libraries can be found at Wollongong Central Library. More legal resources are available through the State Library 'Find Legal Answers' website.

Premier's Reading Challenge

This state wide challenge (Premier's Reading Challenge) is available for all NSW students in Kindergarten through to Year 9.  It is an initiative of the NSW state government and supported by your local library. The Challenge aims to encourage students to enjoy reading for leisure and pleasure, and to assist in the development of literacy skills. The Challenge runs from 1 February to 1 September. The four reading groups are K-2, 3-4. 5-6 and 7-9.

You can view the Premier's Reading Challenge books through our catalogue.
